The Uganda National Mining Company (UNMC) is pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified Ugandan students for its Internship Programme. This initiative is in line with Government policy aimed at providing practical training and hands-on experience to students in preparation for the world of work.

The internship programme offers an opportunity for students to gain valuable industry exposure, develop professional skills, and contribute to the growth of Uganda’s mining sector.

Available Internship Positions

Applications are invited for internship placement in the following departments/sections:

1. Exploration and Extractions                         (1 position)
2. Commercial and Investment                        (1 position)
3. Engineering                                                     (1 position)
4. Legal                                                                (1 position)
5. Human Resource                                            (1 position)
6. Administration                                                (1 position)
7. Procurement                                                   (1 position)
8. Artisanal and Small-Scale Mining (ASM)     (1 position)
9. Finance                                                            (1 position)
10. Kilembe Mines                                                (2 positions)
11. Planning                                                           (1 position)
12. Office of the CEO                                           (1 position)

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

1. Be Ugandan students enrolled in a recognized university or tertiary institution
2. Be pursuing a relevant academic programme aligned to the department of interest
3. Provide an introduction letter from their institution
4. Demonstrate strong academic performance and a willingness to learn
5. Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled at a recognised university or college.
7. Applicants must attach a recommendation letter from their university clearly indicating the student’s name and student number, and a valid University Identity Card. Please attach these two documents as one combined document.

Assessment

Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email with details of when they will undertake the assessment.

Closing Date

The deadline for online applications is May 2, 2026, at 5:00 pm.

Duration of Internship

Successful candidates will undertake an internship from June 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026.
